Chapter 1: Understanding Multimedia
This chapter defines new and old media and how the change has been made throughout the past few decades. Multimedia is communication that combines text, graphics, video, audio and animation through a digital channel or device.
This new 'digital revolution' gives communication professionals new tools to craft messages to their audience. The combination of images, text, and animations, for example, can create an interactive experience for consumers.
While new media has certainly taken over the old, it is providing us with opportunities to learn and create new, more engaging content!
